One sets new comedies for Thursdays

One is clearing out the cupboard and airing fresh content on Thursday nights

Last Man on Earth is  a post-apocalyptic comedy created by and starring Will Forte. The first season consists of 13 episodes which aired in the US in March 2015.

“Alive in Tucson”

The year is 2020 and after a deadly virus has swept the planet, only one man is left on earth, Phil Miller. Phil used to be just an average guy who loved his family and hated his job but now he is searching the country for other survivors.

Phil has travelled to every city, every town and every outpost in the United States, Mexico and Canada but has found no one. As he returns to his hometown of Tucson, Phil comes to the realisation that he is almost certainly the last living being on the face of the earth.

8.30pm Thursday October 29 on One.

Following at 9 pm is  Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.  an American comedy series created by and starring Denis Leary that has 13 episodes. which started in July

“Don’t Wanna Die Anonymous”
Johnny Rock’s once-promising career as a rock star has hit rock bottom.

His manager is ready to drop him and he is willing to join a Bryan Adams tribute band as a source of income.

Johnny’s self-esteem plummets further when, at a sold-out Afghan Whigs reunion show, he hits on a young girl who turns out to be his unknown illegitimate daughter, Gigi. Gigi wants Johnny to help make her famous by writing songs for her.

At Gigi’s request, Johnny tries to get his old band back together as a backing band for her demo tape.

Finishing up the comedy trifecta is  Coverband which comes from New Zealand at 9:30 pm

No one grows up wanting to play in a covers band. It is what happens when the dream of being a rock star has faded and the need for cash takes precedence over any faltering ambition.

After failing to make it as a rock star in the US, Matt returns home from Los Angeles. He decides that he should reunite his old band, but this time they will be playing covers.
