Nine to have Women’s Weekly specials on Sundays

Channel Nine will screen cooking specials on Sundays.

Shelley Craft will host two Channel Nine specials to make this Christmas extra special: Summer with The Australian Women’s Weekly on Sunday, December 1 at 6.30pm, and Christmas with The Australian Women’s Weekly on Sunday, December 8 at 6.30pm.

 

In the Summer Special, Jamie Durie and his team pull off an incredible backyard makeover for the mother of Liam Knight. Liam is the 18-year-old boy who survived a terrible assault that pierced his skull with a 2.5 metre long pole earlier this year. Jamie is joined by his old mate Nigel Ruck, and Today’sKarl Stefanovic also lends a hand in the backyard.

Anna Gare makes a spectacular seafood platter and meringue tower while the deputy food editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly, Xanthe Roberts, enlists The Block judge Darren Palmer to help whip up stunning summer desserts.

TV vet Katrina Warren gives advice on how to look after your dog this summer to some celebrity dog owners: former Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic, Duncan Miller from The Block, and Tully Smyth from this year’s Big Brother. Then Emma Freedman invites them, dogs and all, to a summer picnic.

Channel Nine reporter Roz Kelly catches up with fashion designer Peter Morrissey about how to dress for less this summer and Shelley Craft reveals an affordable holiday option.

The Christmas Special takes us into Maggie Beer’s Barossa kitchen, where she is joined by the Today show’s Georgie Gardner who helps to prepare a scrumptious Christmas buffet.

Luke Mangan uses the first cherries of the season to make a duck breast dish with cherry sauce and Anna Gare calls on Katie and Lucy, the Sugar Sisters from Big Brother, to help her prepare a traditional Christmas lunch.
