Nine releases State of Orgin Broadcast Details

Nine has released broadcast details for this years State of Origin Broadcast.

Mal Meninga’s XXXX Queensland Maroons are hungry for their ninth consecutive Origin series win over the New South Wales VB Blues whose coach, Laurie Daley, is under enormous pressure to turn the tide.

As part of the celebrations for 100 Games of Origin the on-field, pre-match entertainment will include a salute to 25 of the biggest stars in Origin history, starting with the great Arthur Beetson. The finest moments, the most scintillating tries and the legendary gladiators will all be remembered in spectacular pictures projected onto the field, with Ray Warren narrating the special tribute, accompanied by a 50-piece live orchestra.

Warren, the voice of rugby league, will again lead Nine’s commentary team, calling his 76th Origin match. Joining him for the live broadcast will be Wally Lewis, Darren Lockyer, Gorden Tallis and Paul Vautin in the Maroon corner, with Peter Sterling, Andrew Johns, Brad Fittler and Phil Gould representing the Blues. Cameron Williams will steer the Wide World of Sports team through the clash at Suncorp while Ken Sutcliffe will cross live before the game for Nine News.

Wide World of Sports will have unprecedented access to both teams when Paul Vautin and Phil Gould take viewers inside the inner sanctum of the dressing sheds moments before kick-off to get the final word from both coaches.

Channel Nine’s telecast will again be enhanced by a 2014 Holden State of Origin “second screen experience” via the network’s 9jumpin.com.au website and app. 9jumpin offers state-of-the-art features which let you be your own video ref, including 16 multi-camera angles for viewing and slow-motion replays of match highlights just moments after the action is broadcast live on Nine.
