Nine has announced it will offer live access via its second-screen app, Jump-in.
Jump-in will offer live coverage of the fashions from 5pm, 3 hours ahead of the official broadcast.
During the TV broadcast from 8.30pm on Nine, behind-the-scenes video interviews with key award nominees and winners will also become available in Jump-in. The interviews with Today’s Kristy-Lee Lorraway will be synchronised with the TV broadcast, and this exclusive content will become available to Jump-in users in-time with the the award presentations and as winners are announced to TV viewers.
Jump-in will also run a viewer poll asking users to vote for who they think will win the gold Logie.
“We’ve seen big TV networks build synchronised second-screen companion experiences around big awards ceremony broadcasts internationally, like the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes,” said Mi9 Director of Convergence Rebecca Haagsma.
“Never before has live continuous video footage of the Logies Red Carpet been made widely available prior to the broadcast.
“Channel Nine are the first Australian broadcaster to run a simultaneous second screen experience during an awards ceremony and this will extend the Logies from just TV to tablet and mobile – making for a much bigger viewing experience,” said Haagsma.
Jump-in is available for free download on iPhone, iPad and – to download it go to jump-in.com.au or the App store.
