Neighbours Tackles Testicular Cancer

Neighbours Tackles Testicular Cancer

Tonight, Neighbours threw fans a most unexpected diagnosis.

Way back in September, the Testicular Cancer Testing Booth pulled up in Erinsborough, bringing all the men of Erinsborough out to get tested. At the time, a reluctant Hendrix (Benjamin Turland) was urged on by Karl (Alan Fletcher) to get himself checked, which resulted in the discovery of a lump. This lead to Hendrix going down a dark path for a few weeks, with Kyle (Chris Milligan) his closest confidant before Hendrix finally opened up to everyone and went to get another test. Luckily for Hendrix, the lump was benign and he was in the clear.

But that’s not the end of the story.

For the last few weeks, Kyle and Roxy (Zima Anderson) have been helping Nicolette (Charlotte Chimes), Aaron (Matt Wilson) and David (Takaya Honda) with baby Isla, which prompted Roxy to reveal that she’s been thinking about having children. Following everything with Hendrix, Kyle checked himself in the shower, finding a lump in the process.

Last week, Kyle headed to Frankston to get tested. When he returned earlier this week, he revealed to Roxy and Toadie (Ryan Moloney) in an emotional scene that he has cancer.

In tonight’s episode, it was confirmed that he has Stage 2 Testicular Cancer, and a treatment plan was put into place. It’s going to be a rocky road ahead for one of Neighbours’ most popular characters and couples.

The highly emotional episode, penned by Lisa Maroun, featured some brilliant acting for all involved, setting up a storyline that is set to strike a chord with fans everywhere.

Neighbours airs 6:30pm Monday-Thursday on 10Peach.
