It’s been a long time coming, but David and Aaron are finally getting their star moment as they work to grow their family.
The road to becoming foster parents has been a long one, with the most recent hurdle being Aaron (Matt Wilson) left defensive after a lot of intrusive questions during an interview conducted by Leila Potts (Jing-Zuan Chan), resulting in an outburst. Even though the par felt they’d ruined their chances, Leila informed them they have been accepted as foster carers.
When we left Erinsborough David (Takaya Honda) and Aaron are called in on an emergency where they are shocked to meet their foster child, 13-year-old Emmett (Ezra Justin). As excited as they are to embark on this new journey, they are a little reluctant given Emmett is a little older than they had expected.
Realising just how badly Emmett needs a home, they agree to take him for the night while the agency finds him a long-term family to live with.
But this story is far from over – you’ll have to tune in to see how the trio get on and what the future holds for Emmett.
This story is one that Neighbours has has in the pipeline for a while now, and we have been following David and Aaron’s journey since April, so this big episode, which was penned by Libby Butler and co-directed by Deborra-Lee Furness, is a welcome step forward and installment in this storyline.
Neighbours has been going from strength-to-strength in terms of character representation and issues they deal with, and this foster care storyline is a great addition to David and Aaron’s story, and will hopefully be a long-term arc we see develop over the coming weeks and months.
Neighbours airs weeknights at 6:30pm on 10Peach.
