Neighbours’ History Making, First Transgender Wedding: Mackendrix’s Fairytale

Neighbours’ History Making, First Transgender Wedding: Mackendrix’s Fairytale

It’s been a big few weeks for Hendrix and Mackenzie, but their big day is almost here.

We open on the wedding day eve, after Hendrix (Ben Turland) and Mackenzie (Georgie Stone) decided last week to fast-track their nuptials in order to not waste precious time before his lung transplant. Father of the groom, Pierce (Tim Robards) has already stirred up trouble by firing Nicolette (Charlotte Chimes) as the cake baker and promptly uninvited her to the wedding, but the planning is further derailed when they receive word their Zoo booking has fallen through, leaving them without a venue.

It’s a race to find a replacement with short notice and tensions are high, especially between father-of-the-bride Grant (Paul Mercurio) and Pierce. The patriarchs are at loggerheads over Pierce’s continuous assumption that he knows best and his solution to everything being resolved is by throwing money at it.

Will the pair be able to compromise for their children? Will there even be a fairytale wedding? It’s a roller-coaster of emotions in tonight’s double, with outstanding performances from the cast and a few surprises that you’ll just have to watch to find out.

Penned by Linda Stainton and Paul Gartside, tonight is devoted to one of the show’s most popular couples getting their moment and it’s a bittersweet joy at what might be the last Neighbours wedding.

You don’t want to miss this.

Neighbours airs double episodes 6:30pm Monday-Thursday on 10Peach.
