It’s been a tough few weeks in the neighbourhood, but today’s episode might just be the toughest of them all as we say a final farewell to one of our favourites.
Following the death of the much-loved David (Takaya Honda) at the hands of Eden (Costa D’Angelo), it’s time for his final farewell, and everyone is in for an emotional ride.
On the day of the funeral, Wendy (Candice Leask) clings to her daughter, unaware that Sadie (Emerald Chan) is grappling with a huge secret about Paul (Stefan Dennis) meeting Eden before David’s untimely death. And elsewhere, Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) and Toadie (Ryan Maloney) reaffirm their commitment. Is this couple finally on solid ground?
But at the centre of it all is the Robinson-Tanaka-Harris-Stone clan, who come together to support Aaron (Matt Wilson), but he ultimately rejects their help, causing concern for Isla (Hanna Abe-Tucker), whom he has already been distant from since losing his husband. Will he be able to find a way to support his daughter?
After an emotional funeral, everyone moves back to The Waterhole for the wake. Krista (Majella Davis), who was banned from the funeral by Leo (Tim Kano) at Aaron and Paul’s request, has been struggling with her emotions
In the wise hands of Ceinwen Langley, the script brings a range of emotion and exceptional and heart wrenching performances from all involved, but particularly by Stefan Dennis, Matt Wilson and Tim Kano. As one chapter closes, the next one begins and it’s clear that there’s plenty of drama yet to come as everyone continues to grieve and figure out how to move on with their lives.
