As we round out Neighbours’ big 35th Anniversary week, we’re treated to a drama-filled finale.
After their picture-perfect Lassiter’s wedding on Wednesday, Mark (Scott McGregor) and Paige (Olympia Valance), are riding on their high and trying not to think about what their future holds as a long-distance couple. Could this long-awaited union be over just as it’s started?
It’s time for the final wedding of the expo, with Des (Paul Keane) and Jane (Annie Jones) taking centre stage. But when both of his oldest friends need his support, Paul (Stefan Dennis) has to make an impossible choice. And will Sheila (Colette Mann) and Clive (Geoff Pain) get caught up in the romantic atmosphere and take the next step in their relationship?
Meanwhile, things on the island are reaching a climax, with Harlow (Jemma Donovan) bitten by a snake that Finn (Rob Mills) dropped into the mine last night. Bea (Bonnie Anderson) is faring well either with her injuries – will Gary (Damien Richardson) be able to find them in time, or is Neighbours about to lose two of its favourites?
What has Finn got planned for his final showdown and who won’t make it off the island alive?
Without giving too much away, it’s safe to say that Neighbours has saved the best till last with an almighty twist. Buckle up as endgame reaches its climax!
Everyone involved in this huge week of double-episodes is to be praised on their performances, both in front of and behind the camera. There’s been a perfect balance between a nod to the past with an abundance of easter eggs, and giving the current stories a turning point to head into the future. The effects of this week are sure to be felt for weeks to come.
