Natalie Barr and David Koch to host Carols in the Domain

Australia’s number one breakfast television duo, Natalie Barr and David Koch from Sunrise, are set to dazzle as co-hosts of the much-loved Woolworths Carols in the Domain

Welcoming the return of a full-capacity crowd for the first time, post-pandemic, to Sydney’s iconic Domain, the festive extravaganza will shine with a galaxy of star performers ready to party for the show’s milestone 40th anniversary.

And the nation’s largest Christmas event plans to celebrate in style, as The Wiggles, Samantha Jade, Leo Sayer and Mark Vincent join Todd McKenney, Rhonda Burchmore, Paulini, Lachie Gill and more on the famous Domain stage.

Adding to the spectacular line-up, Grammy-winning singer Andrea Bocelli will also perform via satellite a heart-warming rendition of the classic, Away in A Manger, with his daughter, Virginia.

Fans attending the 17 December recording should prepare for snow, with giant snow machines to create a magical winter wonderland on the night.

VIP guests are also expected to walk the red carpet, a first for Carols, including Seven Network stars and social media favourites set to get their “glow on”.

A self-confessed Christmas fanatic, David Koch said: “Carols in the Domain is a family tradition for the Koch clan and it’s always a privilege to be involved. We all have so much to celebrate and this great event brings Australians together like no other – with fun, laughter and of course, the big guy in the red suit, Santa Claus. See you there, Australia.”

Natalie Barr said: “It’s such a wonderful time of the year but especially so as we mark 40 years of Carols. My lip-synching skills are pretty good, so I’ll be singing along with performers I love like Samantha Jade, Tom Burlinson and Leo Sayer.”

Executive Producer Mark Whitmore-Beirne added: “Carols in the Domain brings so much joy to families across Australia, whether they’re singing along from home or attending our spectacular event in-person. It’s an annual event that brings together everyone from grandparents, to their children, and their children’s children – igniting the spirit of Christmas in audiences of all ages. In its 40th year, Carols in the Domain will be full of surprises and bigger and better than ever before.”

Woolworths Carols in the Domain brings Australians together to celebrate the songs and spirit of Christmas, with the Seven Network recently signing a new three-year broadcast agreement with ActiveTV to produce and telecast the spectacular show.

ActiveTV President and Executive Producer, Michael McKay said: “This year’s Carols is going to be our biggest show in years, packed full of unforgettable moments that are sure to bring festive cheers to Australians around the country.”

The Salvation Army will again partner as the official charity, raising funds from the sale of official candle bags at the event.

And look out for the official songbook in New Idea magazine, on sale 12 December.

Woolworths Carols in the Domain is a free event (no ticket required), however, reserved seating areas are available now through www.ticketbooth.com.au
