My Kitchen Rules Top 4 Announced

My Kitchen Rules Top 4 Announced

Last night My Kitchen Rules found it’s top 4 home cooks were revealed.

Following a hectic round of ultimate instant restaurants, in which the five teams had to present two choices at each course, the team standing ahead of the competition is NSW’s Will and Steve, who with a resounding score of 79 sit atop the leader board. They are taking on fourth-placed Ash and Camilla, who secured their place in the semi-final with a score of 62.

The boys were definitely on a roll during their ultimate instant restaurant delivering perfect mains and high scores of nine and 10 for their first two courses from both judges, Pete Evans and Manu Feildel. But dessert let them down with Manu scoring them just a four.

In contrast, Ash and Camilla delivered mid-range mains but wowed Manu by making their own puff pastry for dessert. “The fact you made your own puff pastry, I was really impressed. The end result was unbelievable; it was crispy, flaky, buttery. When I put the first bite in my mouth I was back in Paris,” he said in awarding a nine for their mille-feuille and delivering the knockout punch to end WA newlyweds Drasko and Bianca’s run in the competition.

“I think we tried to push ourselves too far, way too far. It’s such a disappointment,” said Drasko on departure.

In the end their scores were reflective of a massive three hour wait for guests between entree and main and a disastrous dessert – an attempt to replicate the lemon tart they enjoyed on their first date – which scored just a one from Pete. “Guys I’m sorry but you know it’s a disaster,” he told them.

But despite some hiccups on the night which ultimately ended their dream of winning the $250,000 prize, Manu was impressed by their flare in the kitchen.

“For some amateur cooks I’m just blown away by your creativity. I think you’ve got what it takes to become a great chef,” he told Drasko. “But to become a great chef you have to take three steps back and really nail the basics first.” On Sunday night, (May 3 at 7.00pm) semi-final two will pit Jac and Shaz (score 65) against Eva and Debra (score 63). Both teams have had a very different run throughout the competition – Mt Isa mums Jac and Shaz have had a smooth run winning two People’s Choice and they’ve never found themselves in the bottom two.

In contrast, WA workmates Eva and Debra have endured the redemption round and survived two sudden deaths. They’ve also impressed with the highest-ever instant restaurant score and won a People’s Choice.
