As flashback week continues, Melanie reveals more about what led to her departure as we inch closer to the events of Paul and Toadie’s vow renewal.
Melanie (Lucinda Cowden) reveals that about three weeks before Paul (Stefan Dennis) and Terese’s (Rebekah Elmaloglou) vow renewal, she found another postcard from Krista while collecting the mail. As she rushes out the door, she finds Krista outside, clearly on something and needing more money. Mel tells her to stop using drugs, and the stress of the interaction causes Mel to have a public breakdown, witnessed by David (Takaya Honda).
With David and Mel now business partners, he knows everything going on with Mel and he advises her to tell Toadie (Ryan Moloney). But not wanting to upset the kids, she refuses.
Eden (Costa D’Angelo) then starts randomly appearing and Krista starts blackmailing Mel, who refuses. Until a few days before the renewal when the drinks van is tampered with and Hugo (Tanner Ellis-Anderson) ends up getting hurt.
Following this, Melanie contacts Krista and they agree to meet at the garage. Krista insists that she gets money, she will go and leave Mel alone, but Mel knows that she will never stop. Also meeting up with Krista is Holly (Lucinda Armstrong Hall), who has suspicions that Eden has cheated on her with Krista. Following a confrontation, Holly and Eden break up, and Holly surprises Karl (Alan Fletcher) and Susan (Jackie Woodburne) and moves into No. 28.
As the episode comes to an end, we return to current day with David visiting Paul at the hotel. It’s clear that Paul put him in a big mess that led to him moving away, but the reasons aren’t clear. When Paul learns that Mel is back and revealing all, the race to Terese is on.
Neighbours airs 4:00pm Monday-Thursday on 10, with the episode repeated at 6:30pm on 10Peach.
