Millionaire Hot Seat Hero Week

Hot Seat is giving something back to some of Australia’s most deserving citizens in Heroes Week, a week of heart felt episodes starting Monday, September 23, on Channel Nine.

Unsung heroes from across the country will be given their chance at winning $1 million. Over five big nights we will see charity workers, people who risk their lives to rescue others, professional heroes and extraordinary volunteers, all putting their minds to the test in the coveted Hot Seat.

Each episode will see the Hot Seat Heroes telling their inspirational stories while battling the tough questions from host Eddie McGuire.

The week starts on Monday, September 23, with Nicolette Powell, a palliative and oncology massage therapist from Melbourne who has changed lives through the art of gentle massage. She has also massaged rapper Snoop Dogg’s father.

On Tuesday, Rebecca Green flies into the Hot Seat, having spent the last two years volunteering for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in South Australia after experiencing the benefits of the service first-hand following a fall on a school trip and a subsequent airlift.

Wednesday sees Gary Hays from South Australia in the chair. As a Tasmanian police officer in 1996, he put his life on the line during the Port Arthur massacre, saving the lives of two fellow officers.

On Thursday night Nick Randles, a professional fire-fighter from South Australia, battles it out with Eddie. One of his most memorable days on the job was rescuing a pup flushed down the toilet by a curious child.

The feel-good week concludes with Blake Woodberry, 19, from Tasmania. He volunteered to work in Cambodia, building eight houses in just two days for victims of the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime.

Will one of these selfless heroes make history by claiming the first $1 million jackpot in Hot Seat history?
