Welsh-Italian home cook Michela Chiappa will take us around the foodie hotspots of Southern Italy next month with the world premiere of her brand new series Michela’s Tuscan Kitchen
Michela’s Tuscan Kitchen takes viewers to Southern Italy’s vibrant markets, buzzing street food stalls, traditional producers and family-run trattorias. In each episode Michela explores and samples local ingredients, recipes and ways of eating, taking inspiration back to the heart of the Chiappa family home – the kitchen.
Passionate about the importance of fresh wholesome home cooking, Michela believes anyone can create delicious homemade food whilst having a family and a busy working life. Michela and her sisters first appeared on LifeStyle FOOD in the four-part cooking series Simply Italian and released a cookbook of the same title. Michela also hosted the three-part special Michela’s Classic Italian and contributes to “The Chiappa Sisters” blog and YouTube channel which showcases simple and accessible recipes for all the family.
Michela’s Tuscan Kitchen shows how easy it is to bring a real taste of Italy into your home and features traditional family recipes with Michela’s own twist like Ma’s meatball skewers and the Chiappa Fish Stew, as well as dishes inspired by ingredients sourced during her travels including baked eggs with fresh truffles all the way from the hills in Tuscany, and saffron tagliatelle with prawns and clams using fresh saffron from the San Gimignano region.
The 10-part series is a co-production between Foxtel and BBC, premiering first in the world on Wednesday, April 6 at 8.30pm on Foxtel’s LifeStyle FOOD channel.
