Married at First Sight gets January return date

Pop the champagne and watch sparks fly when Australia’s biggest guilty pleasure and most talked about social experiment, Married at First Sight, returns next month.

In the quest to find the love of their lives, some of Australia’s most attractive and adventurous singles will hand the keys to their heart to relationship experts John Aiken and Mel Schilling, and clinical sexologist Alessandra Rampolla, who together will match them up to determine whether science really can predict true love and long-lasting romance.

These brave couples will face the most nerve-racking time of their lives, meeting each other for the first time at the altar on their wedding day as they become immersed in a rollercoaster experiment to make their marriage a success.

Living under the same roof, every bride and groom must cope with the intensity of a real-life relationship cycle, baring all for millions of TV viewers as the experiment becomes the pressure cooker of love.

In season nine there is even more heart-pounding romance and highly addictive drama, when the experiment is rocked by scandal in an explosive Married at First Sight first, leaving the experts gobsmacked and facing a potential walk out by many of the participants.

Also this season, the popular Home Stays week returns, along with Alessandra’s Intimacy week, Confessions week, and the revealing Couples Retreat where all our brides and grooms go away together – making sparks fly in more ways than one.

Couples will have the chance to compare the highs and lows of their relationship at the explosive Dinner Parties, and seek guidance from the experts at the weekly Commitment Ceremonies, where secrets are revealed and bombshells dropped. Who will choose to stay? And who will decide to leave?

Television’s biggest and most polarising show is turning up the love meter in a new season that’s guaranteed to be the talk on everyone’s lips.

Monday, January 31, at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
