Stan today released the teaser for the brand new series Lucky Hank, starring Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) and set to premiere in March
n adaptation of Richard Russo’s 1997 novel Straight Man, Lucky Hank is set at a struggling Pennsylvania college and unspooled in the first person by Bob Odenkirk’s character, William Henry ‘Hank’ Devereaux Jr, a wise-cracking anarchistic chairman of the English department. The show, which is described as a “midlife crisis tale,” will delve into his character’s career and personal life for eight one-hour episodes.
Also starring in the cast is Mireille Enos (The Killing, World War Z, Hanna) as Bob Odenkirk’s wife, and Olivia Scott Welch (Panic, Marvel’s Agent Carter) as his daughter. The cast also includes Suzanne Cryer (Silicon Valley) Diedrich Bader (Miss Congeniality), Sara Amini (Find Me), and Cedric Yarbrough (Reno 911, Bones)
Aaron Zelman (Damages, Law & Order, Criminal Minds) and Paul Lieberstein (The Office, Space Force, The Newsroom) are adapting the novel for the screen and will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers on the series. Bob Odenkirk will executive produce in addition to starring, alongside his wife, Naomi Odenkirk. Peter Farrelly (Green Book, The Greatest Beer Run Ever) is onboard to direct and executive produce. Pulitzer Prize winning author Richard Russo, Mark Johnson (Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad), and Marc Provissiero (Nobody) will also executive produce.
The brand new series Lucky Hank premieres 20 March, same day as the U.S. and only on Stan.
