Location For Australian Survivor revealed

Network Ten has announced that Australian Survivor will be filmed in Samoa.

Located in the South Pacific, Samoa is a beautiful and rugged tropical paradise, considered by many to be the heart of Polynesia.

With crystal-blue seas, reef-bordered beaches, vibrant jungles and stunning waterfalls, it is the perfect setting for Australian Survivor.

Australian Survivor will be hosted by one of Australia’s leading actors, Jonathan LaPaglia. Known for his commitment to personal fitness and outdoor pursuits, Jonathan is a longtime, avid fan of Survivor.

Network Ten Chief Programming Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “Jonathan is the perfect host for Australian Survivor and Samoa is the perfect location. It is beautiful, remote, challenging and dramatic.

“More than 15,000 Australians applied to be part of this new series.

“The 24 Australian contestants we have selected will be transported to a unique and very different world, where they will have to outwit, outlast and outplay to become the ultimate survivor,” she said.

“We have wanted to create Australian Survivor for many years. We are delighted to be able to bring this amazing show to viewers.”

Several international versions of Survivor have been filmed in Samoa, including the 19th season of the American series, which aired in 2009.

Australian Survivor will be produced for Network Ten by Endemol Shine Australia, in association with format creator Castaway Television Productions Ltd.

Production on the series  starts later this month. and Australian Survivor will premiere on Ten in 2016.
