Kym Valentine who played Libby Kennedy on Neighbours is suing the show production company Fremantle Media.
Valentine who has not been seen on the soap for two years is seeking compensation for lost wages and “pain, hurt, suffering and humiliation”, an acknowledgment that she suffered unlawful discrimination and an apolog. Kym would also like to return to the show insisting they rehire her.
She is alleging that production company FremantleMedia Australia, legal director Steven Rosser and former Neighbours producers Susan Bower and Neal Kingston engaged in unlawful discrimination.
she also claims that FremantleMedia failed to provide “a working environment that was safe” and that it breached “the relationship of trust and confidence”.
Neither Valentine’s lawyer nor FremantleMedia would comment.
