The official trailer for the new animated comedy series Krapopolis has been released ahead of its premiere next week.
Set in mythical Ancient Greece, the series centres on a flawed family of humans, gods and monsters that tries to run one of the world’s first cities without killing each other.
The cast includes Matt Berry (What We Do in The Shadows) as Shlub, Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) as Deliria, Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd) as Tyrannis, Duncan Trussell (Adventure Time: Distant Lands) as Hippocampus and Pam Murphy (Get Shorty) as Stupendous.
Tyrannis (Ayoade), the mortal son of a goddess, is the benevolent king of Krapopolis and is trying to survive in a city that lives up to its name. Deliria (Waddingham) is Tyrannis’ mother, goddess of self-destruction and questionable choices. Within her extended Olympian family — forged in patricide and infidelity — she’s known as the trashy one. Shlub (Berry), Tyrannis’ father, is oversexed and underemployed and claims to be an artist and has literally never paid for anything, in any sense of the word, for his entire life. Stupendous (Murphy) is Tyrannis’ half-sister, daughter of Deliria and a cyclops. Hippocampus (Trussell) is Tyrannis’ half-brother, the offspring of Shlub and a mermaid, and, obviously, a hot mess, biologically speaking.
Krapopolis is owned by FOX Entertainment and produced by FOX’s Bento Box Entertainment. Dan Harmon is Creator and Executive Producer. Steve Levy is Executive Producer. Jordan Young is Executive Producer and Showrunner (Season One). Alex Rubens is Executive Producer and Showrunner (Seasons Two & Three).
four-episode premiere 16 October on BINGE, with new episodes dropping weekly.
