High Country: What Lies Beneath sets September Premiere on Binge

BINGE today confirmed that acclaimed Australian crime drama HIGH COUNTRY will return for a highly anticipated second season from 14 September, with new episodes streaming weekly on BINGE, DAZN’s entertainment streaming platform.

Filmed in Victoria HIGH COUNTRY: WHAT LIES BENEATH sees multi-award winning actress Leah Purcell AM (The Drover’s Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson, Wentworth) joined by new cast Brendan Cowell (Plum, Avatar), Ryan Corr (Kangaroo, House of the Dragon) and Nadine Garner (Savage River, The Doctor Blake Mysteries), alongside returning stars Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones, Derry Girls), Sara Wiseman (Watching You, Territory), and Aaron Pedersen (Jack Irish, Mystery Road).

The eight episode season two sees Andie (Leah Purcell) drawn into a case far more dangerous and personal than she ever imagined. It will test her loyalties and challenge everything she thought she knew about herself, her community and the High Country she calls home.

Season one received a standout debut that captivated audiences across Australia and overseas, including top-rating performances on BBC1 in the UK and Hulu in the US. High Country was the most-streamed series on BINGE in both March and April 2024 following its launch, and was one of the platform’s biggest drivers of new subscriptions during that period, remaining one of BINGE’s most watched and most loved Original series.
