Great Australian Spelling Bee Top 20 Revealed

Last night The Great Australian Spelling Bee found it’s top 20.

Ben, 13, from Victoria, who topped the leader board in last week’s Speed Spell, tripped on the word “mansion”, relegating himself to a Flashcards challenge against best mate Harrison. The two friends went round for round in Flashcards until a tiebreaker was needed to separate the pair. Harrison, 12, eventually won immunity with the correct spelling of “oscillation”.

Earlier in the night Anirudh, Tej, Marko, Mica, Grace and Jack progressed after blitzing the Spell Gate. They joined Monday’s winners Harpita, Harpith, Peyton, Karl, Holly and Ryan.

In total, New South Wales and Victoria have six spellers through to the Top 20, Queensland four, South Australia three and Western Australia one.

The Great Australian Spelling Bee airs 7:30pm Monday and Tuesday on Ten
