Go to Air World Cup Qualifiers

It’s a make or break week for the Socceroos with the final two FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Japan and Thailand to decide whether they can claim automatic entry into Russia 2018.

Ange Postecoglou’s men currently sit third, and only good results in their last two games will guarantee a spot at the World Cup.

On Thursday, August 31, LIVE on 9GO! from 8.00pm AEST, Wide World of Sports will broadcast all the action from Japan as the Aussies take on the group leaders – needing at least a draw to help them gain a top two position and direct qualification for the World Cup. Their final group match, against Thailand on Tuesday, September 5, LIVE from Melbourne, will also be on 9GO! from 7.30pm AEST.

Former Socceroo Craig Moore joins the Wide World of Sports commentary team for these two crucial matches, alongside regular WWOS football expert Michael Bridges and host Clint Stanaway.

Nine’s Director of Sport, Tom Malone, said: “It doesn’t get more important than these two matches, and we need all Australians to get behind the Socceroos and show their support. The best way to do that is by watching on Nine, or turning up at the ground.”
