The girls are making a comeback and this time, it’s on their own terms! Stan today announced that the brand new season of the Emmy®-nominated hit comedy series, Girls5eva from executive producer Tina Fay will premiere in May.
After reuniting to give their pop star dreams another shot, the one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90s that was churned through the pop music machine reunites to make yet another comeback. In season 2, the girls will embark on their next chapter in making their first studio album on their own terms.
The aspirational comeback tour is filled with brand new hits, bumps in the road and knee replacements as the girls journey to hit just the right note.
The series stars Grammy® Award-winner and Tony® and Emmy® Award-nominated singer Sara Bareilles, Grammy® and Tony® Award-winning actress and singer Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton), Emmy® winning “Saturday Night Live” mainstay and comedy icon Paula Pell (A.P. Bio), and New York Times Best-Selling author, actor, activist, writer and host Busy Philipps (Cougar Town).
Meredith Scardino (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) serves as creator and executive producer for the series. Jeff Richmond, Tina Fey (30 Rock), Robert Carlock, David Miner, Eric Gurian also serve as executive producers. Girls5eva is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
