E! has revealed the leading nominees in the Australian Social Star of 2020 category for this year’s E! People’s Choice Awards handed out next month.
For the second year running, Australians will be able to cast their votes for the Australian Social Star of 2020 award, with six diverse nominees competing for the coveted title.
This year’s suite of influencers have made their mark on the nation and form a strong collective. In the running for the title, Aussies up for nomination include Brooke Blurton, Tigerlily, Flex Mami, Helen Chik, Lana Wilkinson and Martha Kalifatidis.
Representing a diverse mix of individuals, our Aussie nominees bring an eclectic combination of passions, personalities and achievements to the virtual stage. Putting our best foot forward, this year’s nominees are undeniably influential beyond their feeds – from females conquering traditionally male-dominated industries to professional ‘opinion havers’, glam gurus and reality TV sensations. These individuals have pushed the boundaries of digital innovation, engaged audiences in all-new compelling ways, and surprised us with the most “omg”, “wtf” and “lol” moments.
With voting categories spanning across music, pop culture, TV and movies, the annual E! People’s Choice Awards will once again call upon fans across the globe to make their mark and vote for nominee’s worthy of the win.
In each of the 44 categories, fans worldwide can choose from eight nominees representing movies, television, music and pop culture. The telecast will celebrate an unprecedented year in pop culture, while bringing together the entertainment community and its fans to honor champions and heroes who’ve inspired us throughout the year. This year’s new categories include “The New Artist of 2020,” “The Collaboration Song of 2020,” and “The Soundtrack Song of 2020.”
Broadcasting from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA, entertainment powerhouse Jennifer Lopez will be honored with the “People’s Icon of 2020” award at the ceremony honoring her contributions to music, film, television and fashion. PCA award-winner and six-time nominee, Lopez will be honored for her iconic performances both on stage and on screen, including her award-winning 2020 Super Bowl halftime performance and lead role in the critically acclaimed film, Hustlers.
Since Lopez’s first album in 1999 she has sold over 75 million records worldwide, including 40 million albums, 16 top 10 hit songs and three #1 albums. Jennifer’s latest movie, Hustlers, premiered to rave reviews securing Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice, SAG Awards, Independent Spirit Award, and NAACP Image Award nominations; she will next appear in Marry Me in 2021 co-starring Owen Wilson and Maluma. Earlier this year her Super Bowl halftime performance netted over 102 million viewers. Lopez also continued to dominate the fashion world in 2020 as the face of several brands, including Versace, Coach, Guess, and DSW. In addition to her work in film, television, and music, Lopez dedicates her time to several humanitarian causes and in April 2018, Lopez was named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People.

2020 E! People’s Choice Awards airs on Foxtel and Fetch on Monday November 16 at 1pm with E! Live from the Red Carpet kicking off at 11am.
