– Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ has today announced a brand new local series Aussie Truck Rehab. Premiering in 2023 on Discovery in Australia and New Zealand,
The six-part, one-hour series follows mega trucking legend Jon Kelly, and his crew of restoration renegades, as they buy, bling and then sell vintage road warriors across Australia.
Full of highs and heartbreaks, do-or-die deals – sometimes worth millions of dollars – and diesel-powered deadlines, Aussie Truck Rehab promises to be a full-throttle, entertaining primetime series about flipping trucks.
Vicki Keogh, Senior Director Production, Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ, said: “Off the back of our ever popular local series like Aussie Gold Hunters, Outback Opal Hunters, Demolition Down Under and Aussie Salvage Squad, and building on the success of Discovery’s Machine Mondays, we’re delighted to announce Aussie Truck Rehab as a new addition to Discovery’s factual series slate.
“Aussie Truck Rehab is set to provide Discovery’s passionate and dedicated audience with even more home-grown stories, and share the lives of ordinary and local unsung heroes.”
Ben Davies, Founder, Ronde Media, said: “Along with concept creator Dan Marsden, our excitement levels are sky-high on this. As well as being “trucking royalty”, big-rig restorer Jon Kelly and his do-or-die crew are tailor-made for Discovery audiences.”
Kylie Munnich, CEO, Screen Queensland. said: “We are so pleased to be supporting Brisbane-based Whistling Wolf (Big Weather) who are partnering with Ronde Media on this high energy series to be filmed entirely in Queensland.
“With its colourful characters and equally colourful trucks, Aussie Truck Rehab will introduce audiences to some unique locations and stories of life in Queensland.”
Aussie Truck Rehab is produced by Ronde Media (Outback Ringer, Bondi Rescue, Here Come the Habibs) in association with Whistling Wolf and financed with the support of the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland.
Aussie Truck Rehab will premiere in 2023 on Discovery.
