Times are tough Australia, but tonight the cast and crew of 10’s Dancing With The Stars were determined to put on a good show. And that’s exactly what they did.
It had it all. Kicks, flips and windy rooftop performances with the bright lights of the city as the backdrop.
But for Dami Im and partner Shae Mountain, it was time to say goodbye as they were eliminated and sent home where the only thing they’ll be practicing is social distancing.
On leaving 10’s Dancing With The Stars Dami said, “I’m so grateful that I was able to have this opportunity, I’ve met so many wonderful people here.”
After finishing in the bottom two last Sunday, Ed Kavalee felt the pressure tonight as he took on the Charleston and the Argentinian Tango. Being sexy has been one of his biggest challenges yet, but tonight Ed was out to prove he could bring it. Craig was not convinced saying his Tango was “pedestrian and lacked footwork.”
Claudia Karvan took on the Foxtrot and Paso Doble this week and not even tackling two very different dance styles could shake her with Tristan saying her Foxtrot was “her best performance yet. When you smiled, I smiled.”
Resident top of the table placeholder, Celia Pacquola was ready to #dancelikenooneiswatching when she tackled the Tango and the Jive. Last week she showcased two flips, and this week she lifted everyone’s spirits with her Jive scoring maximum points from the judges. Sharna said: “Absolutely freaking amazing. You are a superstar.”
Australia’s sweetheart, Dami Im, attempted to avoid the bottom two tonight with the Foxtrot and Paso Doble but with a score of only 4/10 from Craig for the Foxtrot, things weren’t looking good. Unfortunately Dami’s Paso Doble failed to impress Craig again bringing him to follow his mother’s advice “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
And then there’s Christian Wilkins, who tonight really did dance like no one was watching when he crossed live into the studio to perform from the rooftop of his hotel. After being in isolation following a COVID-19 scare, nothing could stop him from rehearsing his Viennese Waltz and Jive in the confines of his hotel room. And after receiving a negative result, Christian and partner Lily’s rooftop performances overall impressed. Tristan thought Christian’s Jive (say that three times fast!) “was so much fun! Great kicks and flicks and such a fantastic job.”
With Dami bidding the competition farewell, the Fab.U.Lous Five become the Fantastic Four and in two weeks one of them will be crowned the King or Queen of the dance floor.
