Chrissie Swan And Georgie Tunny Join The Project

Network 10 is delighted to welcome friends of The Project, Chrissie Swan and Georgie Tunny, to join hosts Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar on the desk while Carrie Bickmore and her family embark on a well-deserved overseas adventure.

Carrie Bickmore’s seat is in safe hands with Chrissie and Georgie, who are both much loved regulars on The Project desk.

Carrie shared: “Chrissie and Georgie are well loved by all at The Project, so I couldn’t think of anyone better to be on the show until I return in a few months.”

Alongside Waleed and Pete, Chrissie will host on Mondays, and Georgie will host on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

With a specialty in entertainment, Chrissie Swan is the first port of call for the news in the morning in Melbourne, as host of NOVA 100’s breakfast radio show.

She’s also a familiar face on television, with her current role as host of 10’s popular panel program Would I Lie To You?

Chrissie said: “In the spirit of saying ‘yes’ to things that scare me a little bit (actually a lot), and pushing myself out of my comfort zone, I have accepted the challenge to fill in for Carrie once a week until she returns home from her overseas family adventure! I am so excited. See you on Mondays on The Project.”

Georgie Tunny is a news hound and a live TV veteran, in her role at the ABC she covered sport and weather and was a co-host during the 2020 Bushfire emergency coverage and the COVID-19 pandemic. She’s eager to crack into the election year, both in her role as host of The Project, and her new presenting role with streaming service Flash News.

Georgie said: “I cannot wait to get started! I’ve been working with The Project team over the last four years and they really are some of the best and most talented people in the industry.

“I’ve always been drawn to The Project‘s central ethos – news delivered differently – and think it’s so important to tell the stories of everyday Australians and help them make informed decisions, whatever they may be. Carrie’s been a great supporter of mine, and though they are massive shoes to fill, I’m looking forward to the challenge!”

With the support of hosts Waleed Aly, Peter Helliar, Lisa Wilkinson, Hamish Macdonald and Tommy Little, The Project team are ready to take on the next huge chapter of news, until Carrie Bickmore returns mid-year.

The Project.

Sunday To Friday At 6.30pm On 10 And 10 Play On Demand.
