Next week Stan delivers the final season of its longest-running original Bump.
When we last saw the Chalmers-Davis family, Oly (Nathalle Morris) faced unemployment after whistleblowing on her employer. To top everything off, she also discovered that she was pregnant with her and Santi’s (Carlos Sanson Jnr) second child.
This final season opens with the family facing some tough challenges. Oly is at risk of chaos as she faces a world of unemployment with the prospect of a baby on the way. But when Angie (Claudia Karvan) is given a life-changing diagnosis her cancer has returned, and Oly’s time of joy is short-lived. Angie is supported through her cancer diagnosis by her family, which includes Edith (Anita Hegh), but it’s not an easy road ahead.
With all that on Oly’s plate, Santi faces an exciting career opportunity, while Jacinda (Ava Cannon) feels left out. Things aren’t easy for the brotherhood on the edge of breaking, with Vince (Ioane Sa’ula) neglecting Santi as he faces the challenges of a new relationship with Van (Sana’a Shaik) and Reema (Safla Arlan) in London with Harkim. (Arlo Green)
Elsewhere, Tim (Ryan Johnson ) and Dom (Angus Sampson) finally achieve their goals of a record store, but a blast from Tim’s past in Jane (Nicole De Silva) isn’t a welcome reunion. Meanwhile, Bowie (Christian Byers) tries to find his purpose, and Rosa (Paula Garcia) is dealing with challenging teenage sons.
Creator Kelsey Munro and the team have a lot of surprises in store for fans of the series as they round out a rollercoaster journey with these characters. Karvan and Morris, in particular, are given some powerful stories to send the series out on a high.
The cast, as always, is at the top of their game, and this year is bolstered by the additions of Kate Box and Catherine McClements in key roles.
Full of laughs and, in traditional Bump style, a few tears, Bump’s final chapter is one not to be missed this holiday season.
