Stan continues their annual tradition of a new Christmas original, but this time set in one of its most popular series.
Bump: A Christmas Film is set between episodes 9 and 10 of the final series, as the entire extended family embark on a South American cruise around the Colombian coast at Christmas. Taking place before Angie’s (Claudia Karvan) death, the film gives us one more chaotic and bumpy ride for our favourite family.
Santi (Carlos Sanson Jr) and Oly (Nathalie Morris) are adjusting to life with 8-week-old Angelo, and the family hopes for a festive and cultural Christmas reunion.
Rosa (Paula Garcia) has planned a proper Colombian Christmas, with nine days of partying, Latin music and dancing, and elaborate Christmas games. But naturally, things start to unravel as the festivities ensue.
Rosa’s two teenage sons, Seb (Jeronimo Romero Llorente) and Gabe (Alex Sanson), aren’t engaged at all in the festivities, while Oly’s brother Bowie (Christian Byers) is well-dressed as he waits for a call on a movie part. Dom (Angus Sampson) is in turmoil before even stepping foot on the ship when his luggage is stolen, and Oly requests to read Angie’s half-written memoir as a break from parenting.
Kelsey Munro gives the much-loved show a Christmas film that check all the boxes of the fun chaos that Christmas can be, all wrapped up in a Bump bow.
The cast are all excellent and this film is a welcome addition to the story of the original series.
