In a highly emotional season finale, Ali Oetjen finally found the love she was looking for in Victorian Bank Manager, Taite.
After six weeks of high romance and, of course, high drama, Ali’s search for her Mr. Right came to a dramatic conclusion as she welcomed one amazing man into her life and said goodbye to another.
Casting aside the plans she had mapped out in her mind, Ali’s gamble on a guarded Taite paid off as the pair joyously declared their love for each other in front of a stunning outback setting.
Earlier, on their final single date, things looked shaky for the pair when Taite confessed to Ali he was afraid he could not give her everything she wanted. However, this hurdle was something they both decided they could overcome, as Taite placed a commitment ring on Ali’s finger.
Giving her the ring, Taite said: “I came into this journey looking to fall in love and I can honestly say that I’ve found it with you and this is the start of our journey.”
Overwhelmed by Taite’s commitment, Ali said: “I’m literally the happiest girl in the world right now. I trusted my heart and it led me to you.”
Sadly, there was no fairytale ending for West Australian Sales Rep, Todd. At the beginning of the season, Todd walked onto the red carpet as Ali’s knight in shining armour and although he captured Ali’s eye, their love story proved to be a slow burn.
On their romantic final date across several stunning Darwin locations, Todd confessed to Ali that he was in love with her and could no longer see a life without her.
Over candlelit drinks, Todd said: “The one thing I can give you, fully guaranteed, is that I’m always going to sacrifice for you. I’m thinking about marriage and kids and I’m thinking about all those things with you.”
In one of the toughest moments of her life, Ali regretfully let Todd go, telling him that although he is one of the kindest people she had ever met, there was something missing for her. Through tears, Todd and Ali comforted each other, with Todd graciously congratulating her before departing.
Todd said: “This has been about you and I’m so happy for you. You’ve found yourself a great guy.
“This is probably the part where I say goodbye, but I won’t. I’ll say ‘see you soon.’”
