Bachelor Bombshells lead to farewells

In one of the most anticipated Bachelor episodes of the year  Matty J stopped a rose ceremony and a few surprises were in store.

Following on from the  cocktail party cliffhanger in which Matty halted proceedings, the Bachelor asked to speak with Sian outside.

Matty  explained that after learning of Sian’s uncertainty about their connection, it would be best to go their separate ways.

Returning to the rose ceremony, Matty reassured the 15 remaining Bachelorettes he was genuine about finding love. “I’m not some puppet that is just being told what to do,” he said. “When you receive a rose in the rose ceremony, it’s entirely my decision. I’m here purely because I want to find someone and I hope you can appreciate that.”

On her departure, the 23-year-old retail assistant said: “I am sad to say goodbye because I haven’t had the opportunity to really express myself.”

On the  single date, Matty surprised  Tara, with a tandem bike ride only to discover she was not confident on two wheels. Luckily, the second part of the date allowed Tara’s European heritage to shine through and she impressed with some pasta making.

Matty loved Tara’s playful and cheeky nature, and was delighted to discover a more mature side to her. Seeing similarities in their personalities, Matty presented Tara with a rose and a kiss.

Tonight’s sky diving group date led to mixed reactions. While Leah, Natalie, Laura, Elora and Elise were screaming with excitement, the thought of jumping out of a plane made Simone hyperventilate.

Despite her initial fears, Simone jumped, impressing Matty and scoring herself some precious one-on-one time with the Bachelor.

At the cocktail party, Natalie worried she had been friend-zoned. Elise led Matty to the mansion’s pool, where she had set up a fishing game to help the Bachelor get to know her better.

Tempers flared when Laura suggested there should be an order for which girls could talk to Matty. As Laura, Michelle and Sharlene debated who was next in line, a defiant Jennifer skipped the cue and made a beeline for a one-on-one with the Bachelor.

At the rose ceremony, Natalie’s friend-zone fears were realised when she did not receive a rose.

Leaving the mansion, the 26-year-old midwife said: “Rejection always sucks. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t like me, it might just mean he doesn’t want to date me, which is the story of my life. Hopefully one day there is that person that does want to be with me
