Australia Day 2017: Live At The Opera House

Next month Ten brings out the big guns to celebrate Australia Day.

Australian music superstars Tina Arena and Guy Sebastian will headline the spectacular family entertainment Australia Day 2017 – Live At The Opera House concert, hosted by Family Feud’s Grant Denyer.

The Sydney Opera House will play host to an all-star line-up of some of the biggest names in music, comedy and entertainment, coming together under the guidance of Creative Director John Foreman to celebrate what it means to be Australian.

TEN’s Grant Denyer will host the proceedings, joined by Kerri-Anne Kennerley, who will deliver interviews from behind the scenes, and Gretel Killeen, reporting live from Tamworth, the home of Australian country music.

Grant Denyer said: “Anything that brings people together is great, which is why I love the Australia Day concert. It is not an award ceremony, it is a party at the end of what will already be a great day.

“It bookends a national day of pride, and it is the music that everybody will want to have on as they are feeling great about who they are and where they live.”

One of Australia’s most accomplished performers and highest-selling female artists, Tina Arena is looking forward to returning to Australia from her base in France to be part of Australia Day 2017 – Live At The Opera House.

Tina said: “Australia Day is a great opportunity to come out, eat some delicious food, listen to some amazing music and take part in the diversity that defines our country. I can’t wait to be part of the day, to stand in the middle of the harbour and give my own version of a salute to Australia and to sing with the harbour crowds and school choir.”

Inaugural Australian Idol and ARIA Award winner Guy Sebastian is thrilled to be performing on the Australia Day stage.

Guy said: “I’m stoked to be performing at one of the most iconic locations in the world, the Sydney Opera House, on Australia Day. This country is incredibly diverse and I’m looking forward to celebrating Australia with some of our greatest musical talent and hundreds of music lovers.”

As the sun sets on 26 January and Australia Day gatherings across the nation start wrapping up, Australia Day 2017 – Live At The Opera House will be just getting started.
