In the penultimate episode of Neighbours’ 35th Anniversary week, history is made as the drama comes to a head.
Following Jane (Annie Jones) accidentally destroying the wedding pavilion, Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) works to pull out all the stops to find a new venue for the final two weddings. Dylan (Damien Bodie) finally arrives, hoping to fix things with Sky, bu he is devastated to learn that Sky (Steph McIntosh) has been in a secret relationship with Lana (Bridget Neval) and this is in fact her wedding day.
Dylan’s heartbreak throws Sky, and Lana is naturally not too happy to see her fiancé’s ex. Will we see Neighbours first same-sex female wedding, or is there heartbreak ahead?
At the hospital, Des (Paule Keane) makes one last ditch effort to get through to Jane to give their relationship another shot. But Jane is still unsettled by her catfish experience that’s she not willing to trust her own romantic judgement. Will this couple finally get their happy ending after 30 years?
Meanwhile, drama on the island is heating up as Gary (Damien Richardson) becomes suspicious of Finn’s (Rob Mills) behaviour, and Finn knows it too. Desperate to escape the danger of discovery, he gets Harry to organise a cabin where he can go with Elly (Jodi Anasta) once they get off the island.
Hendrix (Benjamin Turland) soon arrives at the main camp, surprised to find that Harlow (Jemma Donovan) never arrived and is missing somewhere on the island. The campers split up to search, with Finn claiming the area where the mine is located, ensuring that no one finds Bea (Bonnie Anderson) in the process. But now he’s got two trapped neighbours – how will he avoid anyone finding them before they head back to the mainland?
One thing’s for sure, as we reach the climax of endgame, no one is safe.
This penultimate episode is another brilliant double-bill that continues to honour the past and sets the stage for an epic finale, and the repercussions that are sure to last weeks, if not months.
