One of Neighbours’ most loved characters is returning to her rightful home on Ramsay Street as Annie Jones brings the loveable Jane Harris back to our screens from July.
First stepping onto Australia’s most recognisable cul-de-sac back in 1986, Logie winning actress Annie Jones was quick to cement her place in the hearts of the country as the adorably geeky, “Plain Jane Super Brain”.
After rubbing shoulders with some of Neighbours’ most star-studded alumni, including Kylie Minogue, Guy Pearce and Jason Donovan, Annie Jones returns to the show in 2020 to answer the million dollar question, “what ever happened to Jane Harris?”.
After popping in to celebrate the show’s 35th anniversary earlier this year, fans were over the moon when Jane finally acted on her feelings for Des Clarke (Paul Keane) and the pair got hitched in a hopelessly romantic, whirlwind wedding. But what has happened since? Has it been happily ever after for Jane and Des?
Jane returns to Erinsborough with her daughter, Nicolette Stone, played by new cast member, Charlotte Chimes. Before finding her place on Ramsay Street, Charlotte has appeared in Schapelle and Catching Milat.
Returning favourite, Annie Jones said: “I’m so thrilled to be back playing Jane Harris! I’m grateful to again be working with the dedicated cast, crew and team at Neighbours.
“Jane is returning to her old neighbourhood and bringing with her an insight into what her life away from Ramsay Street has been like for the past 30 years. Audiences will learn more about her family life, as fans are introduced to her daughter Nicolette for the first time.”
New cast member, Charlotte Chimes said: “I’m not going to lie, I have Margot Robbie on my vision board three times. Little did I know I that I’d also end up on Australia’s most iconic series following in her footsteps.
“Getting to work so closely with Annie Jones day in and day out is a gift. Her work is always truthful and nuanced. She sets the bar high, which gives me a lot to work with and bounce off.”
Annie Jones reprises her iconic role from the 8th of July with Charlotte appearing from July 15.
