Angelyne comes to Stan in May

Stan today released the scintillating trailer for the brand new series Angelyne, led by Golden GlobeⓇ nominee Emmy Rossum premires next month.

From the producer of Mr. Robot and Homecoming, the series is inspired by the true story of Angelyne – a media personality who rose to prominence in 1984 after the appearance of a series of iconic billboards around Los Angeles. Based on The Hollywood Reporter’s investigative article, Angelyne is about fame, identity, survival, billboards, Corvettes, lingerie, men, women, women teasing men, men obsessed with women, West Hollywood, crystals, UFOs, and most importantly of all, the self-proclaimed Rorschach test in pink, glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe, Angelyne.

Starring Emmy Rossum (Shameless), with Martin Freeman (The Hobbit trilogy), Alex Karpovsky (Homecoming), Hamish Linklater (Gaslit), Charlie Rowe (Rocketman) and Lukas Gage (Euphoria), the series examines influencer culture before reality TV and social media.

Angelyne is executive produced by showrunner Allison Miiller (13 Reasons Why, 17 Again) and co-director Lucy Tcherniak (Station Eleven, The End of the F***ing World), and also executive produced by Emmy Rossum via Composition 8 Company, Sam Esmail via UCP-based Esmail Corp, Chad Hamilton via Anonymous Content, and The Hollywood Reporter. Consulting producers include Gary Baum, who wrote the article which the series is based off. Alongside Lucy Tcherniak is co-director Matt Spicer.

Angelyne premieres 20 May, same day as the U.S. and only on Stan.
