An Old Neighbour Returns as a Fan Fave Departs

Tonight, Neighbours serves up an episode no fan should miss.

Following last night’s cliffhanger, Amy (Zoe Crammond) and Gary (Damien Richardson) are stunned by the surprise arrival of Kyle (Chris Milligan) – Amy’s ex and Gary’s son – who’s timing couldn’t have been worse. Gary, who had just proposed, was eagerly awaiting Amy’s response as the moment was gate-crashed.

Their unease grows when Gary learns Kyle is back in town because Paul (Stefan Dennis) offered him a job and he’s recently split from Georgia (Saskia Hampele). What are Paul’s motives for bringing Kyle back to Erinsborough, and more importantly, will Amy say ‘yes’ to Gary?

The other main focus tonight is Piper (Mavournee Hazel) as she reels from Imogen (Ariel Kaplan) calling her out on her obvious unhappiness and lack of direction. Imogen’s words strike a chord with Piper and she realises she needs to bid farewell to Erinsborough in order to pursue something new. However, before she can leave, she has to break things off with Leo (Tim Kano), leaving him genuinely hurt.

Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) is of course emotional at the thought of her baby leaving, especially with Piper keeping her cards close to her chest and not revealing where she is going. Everyone must trust her instincts as she says goodbye to her friends and family.

Is Piper about to join the barrage of residents who head to Queensland and the States, or is she off somewhere else entirely? You will have to tune in to see how Piper’s story is rounded out.

Mavournee has really cemented herself as a Ramsay Street favourite, so it’s sad to lose Piper – luckily her open-ended farewell means a return in the future is possible. At the same time, it’s great to have Kyle back in Erinsborough, and it certainly doesn’t feel like three years since he was last on the Street – he’s slotted back in nicely.

Neighbours airs 6:30pm weeknights on 10Peach.
