Today Neighbours says farewell to a favourite resident.
We are, of course, referring to Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), who is set to leave Erinsborough to relocate to Adelaide, ready to be with the rest of the Brennan clan while also embarking on a fresh romance with Rhett (Liam Maguire). But before he goes, there’s a bit of a cliffhanger to resolve.
After calling Andrew (Lloyd Will) and Holly (Lucinda Armstrong Hall) to a summit in the Rodwell backyard, Aaron agrees to not reveal anything with Wendy (Candice Leask). However, just as he gives the duo some reassurance, Wendy appears in the backyard. And she demands to know what Aaron is going to keep quiet about.
Faced with a choice, will Aaron drop a truth bomb just before he leaves town, or will this forbidden romance continue right under Wendy’s nose?
It’s not a Neighbours departure without a street party, and it’s a fitting farewell for a much-loved character. From his spicy entrance as a stripper to making history as the first onscreen gay wedding, Aaron has spent a decade as being a fan favourite, and it’s sad to see the Brennan era of Ramsay Street come to an end.
