Tonight, Neighbours stages a reunion 30 years in the making.
Just as Paul (Stefan Dennis) was leaving Queensland, he caught a glimpse of a familiar face he hasn’t seen in a very long time. Lucy (Melissa Bell) is less than thrilled when he decided to stay for another night. Paul protests he’s being 100% serious and the he saw someone that he thought could be his brother.
Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) is also livid to discover that Paul hasn’t left Queensland, and doesn’t buy his story about potentially seeing his half-brother. Feeling overwhelmed, Terese lost her way drunk and distraught on the beach when a stranger walked up to her and helps her. Unaware of how this stranger is connected to Paul, Terese lets slip some details about her ex.
In the closing minutes of last night’s episode, Paul comes face-to-face with Terese’s savior, his half-brother Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett).
When we pick up tonight, Glen is shocked to see Paul so overjoyed to see him, given they’ve been estranged for the past 30 years. When we last saw Glen, he was wheelchair-bound after falling from the roof of Lassiters, so Paul can’t believe he’s regained the ability to walk again. Meanwhile Terese is privately shocked to learn that the stranger who helped her is Paul’s brother.
Is it just pure coincidence that their paths crossed? And when all three Robinson siblings are reunited for the first time since 1991, will it be a quick catch-up or the beginning of a much longer arc? Only time will tell.
Elizabeth Packett pens an episode full of nostalgia that is sure to delight fans old and new. With so much history and drama between Paul, Glen and Lucy, it’s sure to be an interesting time ahead.
Neighbours airs 6:30pm Monday-Thursday on 10Peach.
