With 40 weeks in the official ratings calendar, A Current Affair has now won 21 weeks out of the 28 weeks so far this year across the 5 City Metro, meaning it cannot be beaten on number of weeks won and therefore claims a national ratings victory for 2013.
A Current Affair has already wrapped up the ratings years in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, having dominated in those markets for some time.
A Current Affair has averaged 1.048 million viewers across the 5 City Metro each weeknight in 2013 (up 2% year-on-year), compared to Today Tonight which has an average weeknight audience of 1.011 million (down 8.5% year-on-year) – an average lead of 37,000 viewers each weeknight.
The ratings win comes just four weeks after Nine News also reclaimed the mantle as Australia’s No. 1 news service.
