The Secrets She Keeps Season 2 Review

The Secrets She Keeps Season 2 Review

It was one of the biggest hits of 2020, but can The Secrets She Keeps deliver another hit in season 2?

Season 2 of The Secrets She Keeps kicks off from where we left these captivating characters in the last season finale – after kidnapping baby Ben and passing him off as her own, Agatha (Laura Carmichael) was arrested after Meghan (Jessica De Gow) bravely confronted her to retrieve her newborn.

But what about Meghan’s own secret? Who is Ben’s father? And what of Jack’s (Todd Lasance) infidelity?

Flash forward two years and it’s clear Meghan’s life has unravelled and something has happened. The story of how we got to this point will play out over the 6-episode season.

We are dropped back into Meghan’s chaotic life on the day of Agatha’s sentencing. Sports broadcaster Jack is still blaming himself, while his best friend Simon (Ryan Corr) is ready to settle down. And elsewhere, Meghan’s younger sister Grace (Cariba Heine) is hiding a secret so big it could cause chaos.

Meanwhile, in the maximum security prison, much-despised inmate Agatha has another secret of her own.

And all the while, a passionately invested young podcaster, Lorelei (Miranda Frangou), is on a relentless search to cover the case.

The cast are given a very strong script by Sarah Walker which allows the entire cast, but especially Jessica and Laura, to command the screen and play some very interesting twists in the opening hour.

It can be a risk to go beyond the source material, but The Secrets She Keeps looks to buck the trend.

This is one secret you’re going to want to uncover.
