The Gold Coast will roll out the red carpet in honour of Australia’s most celebrated awards when the 60th TV WEEK Logie Awards are broadcast LIVE on Channel Nine on Sunday.
The biggest stars of the small screen will descend on The Star Gold Coast, Queensland for the most prestigious night on the entertainment calendar to celebrate excellence in the Australian television industry.
Melbourne has traditionally been home to the event, which began in 1959, but Queensland is promising to put on a party not to be missed.
The glamour and style of the red carpet arrivals will start proceedings and this year it will be an all-Queensland hosting affair, with natives Sonia Kruger, Sylvia Jeffreys and Leila McKinnon chatting to the hottest stars.
And for the first time in Logies history, 2018 sees the introduction of TV WEEK Logies Live Voting across all ten Popular categories in the lead-up to the event. Fans get a second chance to vote for their favourite stars from the shortlisted nominees right up until the end of the red carpet telecast.
Then at 7.30pm the TV Week Logie Awards ceremony begins as Australia’s favourite television programs, presenters and actors are honoured and rewarded for their contribution to the local industry.
Comedy genius Dave Hughes will once again open proceedings for TV’s night of nights and no one is off-limits as Hughesy roasts the room and the country’s biggest stars.
A total of 21 awards will be handed out, including the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian television. And a legend of the industry will be honoured when the 35th inductee into the TV Week Logie Hall of Fame is announced.
A massive lineup of stars of the small screen will take to the stage in the Star Pavilion Ballroom to present the awards. Among the guest presenters are:
Hamish and Andy, Dave Hughes, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Shaun Micallef, Georgie Parker, Scott Cam, Rebecca Maddern, Carrie Bickmore, Dr Chris Brown, Wilmer Valderrama, Edwina Bartholomew, Georgie Gardner, Marta Dusseldorp, Deborah Mailman, Aaron Jeffery, Ryan Johnson, Abby Earl, Richard Wilkins, Shane Jacobson, Tina Bursill, Todd Sampson, Virginia Trioli, Scott Tweedie, Robert Irwin, Robert Collins and Bernard Curry.
Australia’s showbiz guru, Nine Entertainment Editor Richard Wilkins, will introduce the massive international music lineup which includes Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum superstar Kelly Rowland. The Voice coach will perform with her protégé Sam Perry, winner of The Voice 2018. They will do a mash-up of two of Kelly’s biggest hits, Survivor, which she performed as a member of one of the best-selling groups of all-time, Destiny’s Child, and When Love Takes Over.
Grammy Award-winning UK recording artist Jess Glynne will perform a solo single on the night, and be joined by British singer/songwriter Dan Caplen to sing These Days, the smash hit they collaborated on with Macklemore.
Jess is the first ever British female to score seven number one UK singles. Her current single, I’ll Be There,has already amassed over 26 million global streams.
ARIA Award-winning Aussie singer/songwriter Conrad Sewell will also take centre stage. The LA-based superstar will return home to Queensland to perform his current hit single, Healing Hands.
And Australian music royalty, Kate Ceberano, will feature with a very special performance.
