Retired AFL player Shaun Hampson is set to face his biggest challenge yet, as he steps up and joins the Contenders tribe on Wednesday.
With an AFL career spanning over 12 years with Carlton and Richmond Football Clubs, Shaun is physically and mentally ready to outwit, outplay and outlast his competitors.
Two games short of 100, Shaun was devastated to watch from the sideline as his team took out the 2017 premiership. But all his training and career goals have instilled in him the drive to take on Survivor.
Shaun said: “I love this show and this is my chance. It’s the perfect mix of physical, mental and strategic social elements.”
With his good sportsmanship and a love of teamwork, Shaun wants to play the game with integrity but as a fan of the show, he knows exactly what it takes to be Sole Survivor.
Shaun said: “In real life, my relationships and my word are incredibly important to me but this a game of deception. If you aren’t prepared to lie or be lied to, you shouldn’t be here”.
Shaun currently lives in Melbourne with his fiancée, Megan Gale and their two children.
