It was only a matter of time before this was announced Today Neighbours has announced the casting of Charlie Hoyland.
Charlie, the eldest son of Steph Scully (Carla Bonner), has been living in Fiji with his father Max Hoyland following Steph’s initial incarceration.
Playing the role will be Xander McGuire. Xander is the son of radio and television identity Eddie McGuire and has taken a keen interest in acting since performing in a school musical.

Xander has been busy preparing for his role by researching his on-screen mother. In the process he has made some intriguing discoveries and joked: “Marriage, step-children, battled cancer, had a son, was stabbed, then sent to prison for manslaughter and followed this up with a kidnapping – and I thought I had an interesting family in real life!”
Neighbours Series Producer Jason Herbison said: “I’m thrilled to have Xander playing a character that already has a significant history with the show. I have no doubt he will do a sterling job continuing the character’s story.”
Xander will start filming this Friday and he will debut on screen in early 2016.
