The Living Room November 8

The Living Room this week has your weekend sorted with a lot of ideas to keep you motivated this weekend

RENO: DESIGN CHALLENGE WITH BARRY

National Recycling Week is just around the corner so Barry is recycling his rivalry with designer James Treble in a Recycled Design Challenge to end them all. James has come off second best this season and he thinks this is his chance to settle the score but Baz is the master of upcycling or as he likes to call it, Bazification. This week they will design a living and dining room for newly single mum of three, Shannon. She has just purchased a new home and needs help to get it ready for her little family to have a fresh start. The budget is tight at $1,500, so the perfect way to make a fresh start with that sort of cash is to start with something old.

FOOD: MIGUEL GETS HEALTHY WITH TERESA CUTTER

This week Miguel shows us how to stay healthy with food that matches your workout.

After taking us through his morning training session, Miguel meets up with healthy chef Teresa Cutter and together they create a super food breakfast.  There’s a lot to learn about what goes into the perfect muesli and smoothie to complement a morning workout and our healthy expert Teresa has the perfect smoothie to get you going for the day.

HEALTH: MINDLESS EATING WITH DR ROCHFORD

We are all prone to acts of mindless eating or munching on food without thinking.  Most of the time it is pretty harmless but mindless eating can affect our health and our hip pocket. Tonight Dr Andrew Rochford meets a food expert to get the gossip on this habit and conduct a very interesting experiment. Using cinema patrons and popcorn, Dr Rochford looks into the effect taste and portion size play on mindless eating and the results will surprise you.

STUDIO: PETS WITH DR CHRIS

This week on The Living Room Dr Chris shows you how to give your pet a pill without losing a finger. Plus he discovers the strange world of extreme pet grooming (yes, it’s a thing). Special guests Charmaine and her rainbow-coloured poodle Crystelle show you how to make your dog stand out of the pack. And National Groomquest Champion Prue shows off her dog Bridget whose peacock-inspired hairdo will have you amazed.
