Robin Williams Passes Away aged 63

Such sad news today with the death of comedic legend Robin Williams aged 63.

Williams who had just recently returned to TV in The Crazy Ones is understood to have taken his own life.

Williams “has been battling severe depression of late,” his publicist Mara Buxbaum said. “This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”.

Williams gained fame as Mork, the bizarre, suspenders-sporting alien on the sitcom “Mork & Mindy,” a spinoff from “Happy Days.” Williams departed from the script so often that producers intentionally left blank moments on page for Williams to have space to indulge his ad-libbing genius.

His film career consisted of both comedic and dramatic  roles such as Popeye eye and The World According to Garp, eventually earning four Academy Award nominations for Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, The Fisher Kingand Good Will Hunting, taking home the Best Supporting Actor statuette for the last of those films in 1998.
