Foxtel confirms more A Place to Call Home in 2018

Foxtel has confirmed another season of A Place to Call Home will go ahead next year.

Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television, Brian Walsh said ”Foxtel is very proud of A Place to Call Home  the series is beautifully written, produced, directed and portrayed by some of Australia’s best creative talent. It’s a very special Australian story crafted by series creator Bevan Lee and our producing partners Seven Studios. There are still some stories involving our central characters that are waiting to be told and I think Season 6 will build on the incredible success that we are enjoying with the current season on air,” he said.

A Place to Call Home  is brought to life by the incredibly talented cast including Award winning actresses Marta Dusseldorp and Noni Hazlehurst, along with Brett Climo, Abby Earl, Craig Hall, Sara Wiseman, Jenni Baird, Tim Draxl, Frankie J Holden, Deborah Kennedy, Arianwen Parkes-Lockwood and David Berry.

The TV Week Logie Award Winning Most Outstanding Drama continues to win local ratings, while also gathering international fans and critical acclaim across 120 countries worldwide.

Season 5 was awarded an Australian Production Design Guild award for Costume Design (Lisa Meagher) and an AACTA Award for Best Production Design in Television (Fiona Donovan) earlier this week.

The series also won a 2017 American Public Television Award for Program Excellence and is the number one program on Acorn (US streaming service).

Season five of A Place to Call Home airs 7:30pm (AEDT) Sundays on Showcase with production on Season Six taking place early next year.
