First Masterchef Hopefuls revealed

MasterChef Australia Season 11 is almost al dente! We have a new crop of home cooks ready to put their heart on the plate with their signature dish.

There are 24 coveted white aprons on offer to those that knock the socks off Australia’s favourite judges. Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris are poised and ready to relish in all the new flavour sensations due to hit their palates.

Among this year’s contenders determined to make their food dreams a reality is New South Wales’ travel agent Jess Hall, who has an all-or-nothing approach to the kitchen. This 28-year-old wears her heart on her sleeve, she has a vivacious spirit and she is pedantic in making sure everything is perfect for the judges. Will it be a resounding yes?

33-year-old Victorian cooking and garden educator Tim Bone may look like a prince, but can he serve up a dish fit for a king? Tim may have been told countless times of his uncanny resemblance to Prince Harry but he is still on the hunt for his crowning achievement in the kitchen.

This season’s lovable hipster is 29-year-old brewery sales manager Kyle Lyons, who knows the value of pairing a cold beer with a solid feed and dreams of owning his own microbrewery in his home state of Western Australia. Kyle’s signature dish is king oyster mushroom scallops, with one catch – there’s actually no scallops in his dish.

Victorian IT project manager Sandeep Pandit is plating up a traditional feast from his hometown, Kashmir. Sandeep’s parents created a life of opportunity for their son and now, at 37 years old, this is his chance to make them proud of him. As a lover of spice, Sandeep hopes to elicit a drop of sweat from Georgie Calombaris’ head with his signature dish.

Will all these cooks succeed find out when MasterChef begins soon on 10
