Stan has released the trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season of the hipster dark comedy series Search Party and confirmed it will premiere next month.
A breakout hit with critics, Search Party is about a group of four privileged, self-absorbed twenty-somethings who unwittingly become involved in a death and are forced to cover it up. The series stars Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) who is also a producer on the series, John Reynolds (Stranger Things), Meredith Hagner (Younger), John Early (Bad Neighbours 2) and Brandon Micheal Hall (God Friended Me).
In the new season, Dory (Shawkat) is held prisoner by her psychotic stalker Chip (Cole Escola), who is determined to make Dory believe that they are best friends. Meanwhile, Portia (Hagner) is starring in a film about the trial, although not as herself; Elliott (Early) has switched party lines to become a far-right conservative talk show host; and Drew (Reynolds) is trying to escape his dark past by working as a costumed cast member in a theme park. As the friends begin to connect the dots that Dory might not be touring Europe as her faked social media posts suggest, they must decide whether or not to put their traumatic pasts behind them and once again become a search party – but this time, for Dory.
Joining the show’s stellar guest stars this season are Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (Thelma and Louise, Rocky Horror Picture Show) as Lylah, the unapologetically wealthy aunt to Dory’s kidnapper Chip; Busy Philipps (Busy Tonight) as Donna DiMarco, a former teen star who is cast as Portia in a film portraying the murder of Keith Powell (Ron Livingston); Emmy winner Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale, Hereditary) as Paula Jo, a nosy Christmas-obsessed townie who gets a little too close to Chip’s house for his own comfort; Griffin Dunne (Dallas Buyers Club, This Is Us) as Richard Wreck, the CEO of a pastry company called Lil’ Sticky’s, which might offer a vital clue to finding Dory’s whereabouts; and Lillias White (The Get Down) as Wilma, a world-famous talk show host who has an obsession with Chantal (Clare McNulty). Renowned children’s book author R.L. Stine also appears in a cameo role.
Search Party Season 4 premieres 14 January 2021, only on Stan. All episodes of Seasons 1-3 are available to stream now.
