It’s one of the most anticipated week in Masterchef history.Queen of home cooking Nigella Lawson returns to the MasterChef Australia kitchen tonight for a truly special week.
The much-loved home cook will join judges Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris to inspire, delight and challenge the remaining 21 contestants.
To kick off the week, Nigella makes a surprise visit to the contestant house where she reveals she has chosen ingredients for today’s mystery box from the contestant’s own pantry and fridge.
The week will also see contestants face off in a pressure test to recreate Nigella’s infamous roast chicken.
To win immunity on Tuesday night’s episode, the four most impressive cooks from Sunday night’s mystery box must cook one dish that celebrates custard – it can be sweet, or for those daring enough, it can be a savoury dish.
On Wednesday, Nigella sends the contestants back to school in a team challenge set inside the impressive State Library of Victoria. Contestants must devise a three-course meal for 80 teachers from across Victoria.
Nigella Week ends on Thursday with an elimination challenge that is quite saucy, followed by a must-see Nigella MasterClass featuring her sticky date pudding.
