Hunted: The Million Dollar Heist Review

Hunted: The Million Dollar Heist Review

Tonight 10 goes on the run with its newest season of Hunted, this time with a new twist.

For the uninitiated, nine pairs of ordinary Australians will become fugitives with limited funds and resources to remain undetected for 21 days. Surrounded by surveillance, the fugitives will have to constantly look over their shoulder if they want to avoid capture.

On their trail is a specialised group at Hunted HQ, now under the command of Reece Dewar, who’s been promoted to Depute to Chief. He oversees a team made from some of Australia’s most highly skilled cyber and intelligence specialists, alongside some of the world’s best investigations, including those formerly of the Australian Federal Police, Australian Defence Force, and British Intelligence.

Seems easy, right? But as we’ve seen from the previous two series, it’s not as easy as we think. And now that everyone knows the game, it’s time for something new for the 3rd series – a heist.

Instead of initially working in their normal pairs, the Fugitive teams are split in half, with one team of nine the ‘robber’s and the other nine the ‘planners’. The robbers are in charge of plotting a grand bank heist to steal from the Ballarat Bank in the middle of the night. Meanwhile the planners are in charge of organising the all-important getaway. The bank holds $1 million, with the entire loot up for grabs, and whatever the Fugitives can steal will be divided amongst themselves. And whoever can survive and make it to the extraction point after 21 days, that will be their prize money.

The cast consists of friends who think they will underestimated, a father/daughter duo who are sure to bring the laughs, and thrill-seeking cousins who have intelligence knowledge, just to name a few.

The first episode, screened for this review, definitely hold your attention and show that, in its 3rd season, Hunted is still just as exciting.

Let the hunt begin.
